Flagstone Patio & Landscape Beds — Middleton, WI
This Middleton homeowner had an overgrown foundation bed of old yews, a downspout running across the rock, and a front entry with no place to sit. We pulled the yews and the rock, ran the downspout underground, and built a dry-laid flagstone patio off the driveway on a compacted aggregate base with geotextile fabric — the way it has to be done for Wisconsin freeze-thaw. Joints are filled with crushed granite so the patio drains and stays put.
Along the foundation we installed a clean mulch bed with commercial-grade edging. Out front, we built a curved planting bed around the lamp post with a tumbled block border and a single accent boulder, giving the yard a focal point from the street.
