Mulch Bed Refresh with New Weed Barrier — Sun Prairie, WI

Two beds, one visit. This Sun Prairie homeowner had a front garden bed that had gone weedy and faded, and a side-yard bed where old rock had thinned out and worked into the soil. Both got refreshed the same day.

The front bed already had a stone border and the homeowner's plantings and decor, so the job was to get it back to clean. We pulled the weeds by the root, removed the spent mulch, and spread fresh mulch to a consistent depth around the existing plants and boulders.

The side-yard bed was a bigger change. The old rock had thinned and mixed with the soil, with weeds coming up through it, and the homeowner wanted it switched to mulch. We removed the old rock down to the soil, cleared the weeds, and installed new weed barrier fabric.

The barrier keeps weeds from coming through and keeps the mulch sitting on top of the soil instead of mixing into it.

Small jobs, but the kind that make the whole property look cared for — and both beds are set up to stay low-maintenance.
